For me christmas is not complete until little Ralphie Parker shoots his eye out. To the uneducated that would seem like a really awful thing to say. For those in the know, it is the payoff to one of the best christmas movies ever made. Granted that is a strong statement and everyone has their favourite film of the season. This is mine.
Set in the 1940′s this movie is a throwback to a simpler time. It is one boys story of one christmas and the goal to receive that one elusive gift. “An official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time.” We have all grown up wanting a specific gift at the holidays. Whether or not it was an air rifle is besides the point. We can relate. I know I can. I am still waiting for that 80cc, 2 stroke dirt bike that never showed up.
Basically I love this movie and everything that it represents. It is a great christmas movie and I cannot wait to see it again. For the 25th time. I don’t have a lot of decorations up in my apartment, except for one. My leg lamp ornament. Now, THAT is christmas.

I’ve seen this movie a BILLION times and still love it. It never gets old. Thank you for picking this flick.
