We spend a Night at the Museum (2) and reminisce over old theme songs

We have a fun show for you this week. We start things off by celebrating Steve’s jury-rigged home theatre, followed by a discussion about secret shame shows (we even throw in some chatter about creating one’s own website as well). For this week’s Top 5 list, we examine Brian’s top 5 TV theme songs – and Steve can’t resist offering his own musical accompaniment. We review the impending DVD release of Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the SmithsonianGeek Out over what iPod would make the ideal Christmas gift and finally we break out Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Chronicles of Riddick out of the Vault and chat about the trailers for Something Something Something Dark Side and The Slammin’ Salmon.

    • Dug the theme song list – that’s a good topic. One complaint (though maybe this has more to do with the relatively short time I’ve been listening to the show) – I’m ready to hear you guys tear into a movie. I was hoping you would with Museum (mostly since I would’ve), but you both gave it a pass despite some of the larger negative points you made about it. It was such a soulless cash grab.

Any love for Eternal Sunshine, though, is aces in my book. Best film of the decade.

      • Nobody was more surprised than me about enoying Night at the Museum 2. The first one was super hollow, and that’s exactly what I was expected from the second one. It must have hit me at just the right part of my caffeine high. Sure, it was just a big long ad, but it was an ad for the Smithsonian museum, so that’s okay. We haven’t given out a “double coaster” rating in a while, but I can assure you that we’ve got another one up our sleeve for sooner or later.

I really loved Brian’s list too, and I’ll take any excuse I can to sing on the air.
